PieceS here, with some info on the new Windows “Surface” , a recently announced and highly ambitious tablet that might blow apple out of the water.
The new tablet is, seemingly, a worthy competitor of the IPad. Sure, Windows previous tablet attempts have been failures, but the new “Surface” promises many unique functions. What are they? Well for one, the Surface comes with a keyboard, which is not only an accessory but a large part of the new tablet. The keyboard is as thin as cardboard, foldable, highly sensitive, and connects magnetically under the device. Buyers can pick different colors, and it doubles as a case. Combined with the Surfaces built in kick-stand, the surface doubles as a touchscreen laptop, great for computing since it runs on Windows 8. Other differences between the Surface and other tablets is its casing material, the newly used light weight, thin, yet durable VaporMg, and a micro SD slot (not seen in the IPad). The tablet will come in two models, the RT and the Windows 8 Pro, although prices have not been released. Here's how they compare.

As you can see, The Pro model features many improvements, but both are quality tablets. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the price difference isn't high…
But what gives the Surface a shot at “the next big thing”? Its not its case, SD slots, or screen, but the seamless integration. For some time now, Microsoft has had a plan to allow you to link your Xbox, phone, computer, and tablet as one, making your life easier. Want info on a movie while your watching it on your Xbox? just pull out your Surface and in a mater of seconds it will be yours. Not many details have been revealed about this new electronic ecosystem, but I’m sure it will be something completely new, with things like pausing an episode on your TV, pulling it up on your tablet, and the switching back if desired. The main reason that Apple won’t be able to compete with this (if it succeeds) is because Apple has failed to create a gaming system. Sure, They have phones, computers, and portable devices, but only Sony and Microsoft can offer integration with your video games.
Here's some pics below, as you can see the menu is very similar to the Xbox dashboard
